Reliable Power Solutions for Salem Homeowners

Living in the Willamette Valley comes with the joy of beautiful seasons, but you also must brace for the unpredictability of Pacific Northwest weather. How confident are you that your home will stay warm and lit when the grid goes dark from an ice storm or unexpected grid failure? Losing electricity disrupts daily life, endangers food supplies, and can leave your family without heat during the coldest nights.

At NW Generators, we believe you shouldn’t have to worry about the next forecast. As premier generator installers in Salem, Oregon, we provide comprehensive backup power solutions that will keep your household running.

Why Choose Whole-Home Backup Power?

Portable units have their place, but they often require manual setup, constant refueling, and extension cords running through open windows. A standby generator changes the equation. These systems detect a power outage the moment it happens and automatically switch on, restoring electricity to your home within seconds.

Imagine the peace of mind knowing your furnace, refrigerator, medical equipment, and security system will continue operating without you lifting a finger. Whether you live near the historic downtown or in a quiet neighborhood in West Salem, our team will make sure your home is a sanctuary of comfort and safety.

Expert Installation and Local Service

Finding a trustworthy generator company in Salem, Oregon, shouldn’t be a hassle. Our process is stress-free and turnkey. We handle the heavy lifting, from helping you select the right unit (natural gas, propane, or diesel) to managing the permitting and final installation. We are fully licensed, bonded, and insured, and we bring expert craftsmanship to every project.

Our commitment to you doesn’t end after the installation. Generators require care to perform when it counts. We offer reliable generator service in Salem to ensure your unit is maintained, tested, and ready for whatever Mother Nature throws our way.

Don’t Wait for the Lights To Go Out

The safety and comfort of your family are too important to leave to chance. As trusted generator installers in Salem, Oregon, we are ready to help you secure your energy independence. Contact us today for a free in-person estimate, and discover how easy it is to keep the power on, no matter the weather.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does a generator cost?

We get this question A LOT! As you can imagine, there's some different factors involved in the total cost of buying the generator and getting it installed. That said, go check out our generator cost page to get a general price range and a breakdown of what impacts the total cost.

What size of generator do I need?

This is probably our second most frequent question. The short answer is that it all comes down to the size of your house or business AND what you're looking to power during an outage. If you're just looking to power a small amount of essentials (ex: a refrigerator, your wifi, and a few lights), then you can pretty easily get by with something like a 10kw standby generator from Generac or Kohler, or even a portable unit. If you want to power your whole home or business and want life to go on as normal without thinking about, then we're talking about a 24kw standby generator or something bigger. Most people looking for the whole-home solution gravitate toward a 24kw or 26kw air cooled generator, while businesses are going to need a 48kw or bigger liquid cooled generator. Regardless, during the onsite estimate visit, our team will cover this with you and determine the right size generator based on your needs.

What's the difference between a portable generator and a standby generator?

Simple - convenience and capabilities. For those working with a more limited budget, portable generators allow for a backup power solution at a fraction of the cost of a standby generator. That said, it requires having to maintain fuel on site, refueling when needed, and manually getting it plugged in and fired up when there's an outage. They are normally also used primarily to power essentials, not the entire house. Standby generators come on automatically when the power goes out using natural gas or propane, have remote monitoring capabilities so that they're always ready to run without interruption, and can power the whole house. The right solution for you is going to depend on what you need the system to do and the budget for the project.

Do I have to buy my generator from NW Generator Pros in order to get it installed?

Nope! While it's often the most convenient option as our team will bring the generator to your home or business with them ensuring safe transport, That said, we'll happily install a generator you purchased somewhere else. As an example, we've had a fair amount of people get the 22kw Honeywell standby generator from Costco. We're flexible!

Are you cheapest installer around?

We always work to keep our bids very competitive. You may be able to eventually find somebody to do it for a bit less, but you’ll never find another company that will do it better. Our level of expertise and customer service is second to none. We offer a turnkey premium experience at a great price. Check out our reviews and read all about it.

What's the best generator for my home?

This is one of the most commonly searched questions out there! There's a lot that goes into answering this, from size, to brand, to placement and more. Checkout out "best" generator guide to learn more!
